It’s nearly time to prepare your child to return to school. You have to buy new clothes, shoes, binders and other school supplies. The list might seem endless, but there is one other thing you need before school starts: a back-to-school eye exam with your optometrist. At Springfield Opticians, our eye doctor has been helping residents of Holmes, Springfield, and Chadds Ford select the perfect pair of eyeglasses for many years.
Children need to see their lessons. From a computer screen directly in front of them to a whiteboard across the room, vision problems will impact a child’s ability to learn. If your child has vision problems that go untreated, these issues will worsen over time, leading to struggles in school and beyond. By visiting an optometrist every year before school starts, you are setting your child up for success in academics and life.
Children should see an eye doctor at least once per year. Just like the rest of their bodies, their eyes are constantly changing. Regular eye exams allow our eye doctor to diagnose and address eye issues before vision loss is allowed to occur. If your child already has glasses, you may think that there is no need for another exam. This is not the case. If you got them glasses last year, but their vision changed, their eyeglasses will no longer help. Wearing the wrong prescription can hurt their vision. Additionally, their frames may no longer fit properly.
